Position: Aviation Maintenance Instructor

Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in aviation maintenance courses. Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, effective use of oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of current in-field procedures. Follows approved course syllabus. Maintains program requirements, professional development training, and industry standards. Evaluates student progress. Participates in student advisement and registration. Maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes or and may require travel to any of the satellite locations within the College’s service area.
Projected Work Hours / Location:
This position is projected to work the College’s normal business hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:45, Monday through Thursday, and 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays. Position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes as needed. Position will be located at the Warner Robins campus with travel to other college campus locations as needed.
• Postsecondary certificate in Aviation Maintenance or related field from a regionally accredited
• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
• Documented three (3) years paid full-time, in-field work experience to include competencies, skills and knowledge levels in the aviation maintenance and aircraft structural technology instructional programs.
Preferred Qualifications, in addition to minimum qualifications:
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or related field from a regionally accredited institution
• Post-secondary teaching experience
Target salary is mid $40s. Actual salary will be determined by the candidate’s highest qualifying degree level and related work experience. This is a fulltime position scheduled to work 12-months a year and 40 hours per week. Position is eligible for state benefits to include insurance, leave accrual, retirement and holiday pay. CGTC is a member of Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) and Employees Retirement System of Georgia (ERS).
