Marketing Management/E-commerce Chair, Instructor (FT)

Location:  Dougherty County Campus

Albany Technical College seeks a full-time Program Chair/Instructor for the Marketing Management and E-commerce program.  This 12-month position is based at the Dougherty County Campus, but may include routine travel throughout the local service delivery area.  The Program Director/Chair will serve as the first-line administrator within the program area, responsible for the overall leadership, planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all aspects of the marketing.  He/she will request and maintain supplies and equipment, prepare budget requests, maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate, prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports, attend staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.  He/she will ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area, meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues, and assist with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.  The Program Director will be responsible for maintaining program standards by participating in related advisory committee meetings and working directly with local employers.  The candidate should have proficiency in preparation and delivery of instruction, academic advisement, program administration, evaluation and curriculum development and have the demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.   He/she will manage online and or hybrid classes proficiently in terms of enrollment and content, will evaluate and report on student progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives, help retain all students, and fulfill the required recruitment responsibilities each term.  He/she should have excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills, and be proficient in the use of MS Office, Word, Excel and Banner.  He/she must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Applicant MUST possess a Master’s Degree in Marketing from a national or regionally accredited college or university *OR* hold a Master’s degree in a related field provided they have also completed at least 18 graduate hours in Marketing.

Preferred Qualifications:  The applicant MUST have previous teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, experience with Blackboard or other online learning management systems, *AND* have three (3) years of previous work experience within the marketing field.

Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in a classroom with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.

 

 

 

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.  Benefits include paid state holidays, annual sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
