As part of our mission to prepare Georgia citizens for the workforce, TCSG encourages students to participate in the student organizations that are available in their respective technical college. Students who participate in these organizations gain the leadership skills that are essential for success in the workplace.
All organizations are not available in each technical college; therefore, interested students are encouraged to contact the Student Activities Coordinator at the technical college they would like to attend. Students interested in membership in one of the following four (4) major Student organizations can contact the State Advisors for the organization(s) they are interested in joining:
NTHS The purpose of the National Technical Honor Society is to honor excellence in workforce education.
PBL Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) is the premier student business leadership organization
SkillsUSA SkillsUSA – Georgia Website SkillsUSA is a national organization that serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually.
GSGA The Georgia Student Government Association (GSGA) represents the local student government associations and/or local student leadership councils in the technical colleges of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG).
PBL and SkillsUSA offer state and national competitions as opportunities for students to demonstrate and/or enhance their skills. Another bonus for getting involved in student activities is the opportunity to participate in the annual Georgia Fall Leadership Conference.
