Industry Task Force Film

The HDCI Film Task Force was created to address the workforce needs of the quickly growing film and entertainment industry. The economic impact of the industry grew to an unprecedented $9.5 billion in FY17. This rapid growth originally created a critical shortage of “below-the-line” film workers. In response to this growth, the Georgia Film Academy (GFA) was created to quickly address this need and provide a sustained pipeline of qualified talent moving forward. The task force is composed of key partners from the industry including GFA, Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Film, Television, & Digital Entertainment division, the Woodruff Arts Center, and key post-secondary education providers who train students for careers in the film industry. The task force meets periodically to provide partner updates and coordinate strategically to continue meeting the workforce needs of this exciting industry.
