Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Industry Engagement Coordinator position in the Institutional Effectiveness & Learning division.  This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

The Industry Engagement Coordinator position will play a vital role in initiating, developing, and supporting strategic alliances with employers and industry to develop various employment opportunities for our students. This position will also enhance industry opportunities to engage with Atlanta Technical College’s Business Advisory Councils for Bioscience, CIS, and DMM programs of study. It will play a key role in developing relationships between the College and the wider business community towards establishing a robust Business and Industry Leadership Team (BILT) for the aforementioned programs of study.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Manage and facilitate extensive apprenticeships, internships, and direct hire development programs for Bioscience, Computer Information a Systems (CIS), and Distribution and Material Management (DMM) programs of study.
  • Provide high-level advice to the Deans and Program Coordinators of the programs of study mentioned above to  ensure the partnerships and engagement activities are appropriately and successfully coordinated, implemented and continuously improved.
  • Engage and represent with various industries, government agencies, college stakeholders, and faculty to complete the required position duties.
  • Organization of apprenticeships, internships, and direct placements, including managing student profiles, contracts, student data management, interview scheduling, and feedback collation, plus ongoing contact with employers post-employment.
  • Review and develop a range of workshops, networking events, and other activities to achieve a high level of student and industry collaboration.
  • Develop new opportunities with new and existing employers; and
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Familiarity with policies and procedures related to the operation of postsecondary institutions and, specifically, two year or technical colleges.
  • Knowledge of college and/or program accreditation policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of procedures, concepts, and research methods necessary for collection, analysis, and administration of various means of assessment utilized in a higher education setting.
  • Public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Decision making, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyze and review data.
  • Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience in data analysis, planning and evaluation.

Note:  Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants, who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university AND three (3) or more years of related work experience
  • Documented working knowledge of Banner student information system
  • Documented work experience in higher education or K-12 educational setting.
