Job Summary:

West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) has recently opened its Advanced Manufacturing Regional Workforce Training Center (Center) in LaGrange, GA.  WGTC is looking for a Center Coordinator.  This dynamic individual will be a grant-funded employee whose primary focus will be to sell/secure employer commitments, either through annual training subscriptions or individual employer training cohorts.

Essential Functions:

·         Facilitate training to area employers to support the Center’s established training programs and/or procure new industry partners for customized training cohorts. (30%)
·         Maintains excellent working relationships with and serve as a liaison to internal and external customers. (30%)
·         Enters, reviews and generates data reports required for grant documentation. Develops, implements and oversees the maintenance of filing, recordkeeping and distribution of materials required per grant guidelines. (15%)
·         Communicates regularly to supervisor on status of sales, progress toward project goals and/or required results. (10%)
·         Provides outreach and education to the community concerning the Center, its programs and services available. (10%)
·         Other Duties as assigned (5%)

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time grant-funded position through December 31, 2024. Continued employment beyond this date is contingent on the employee’s success.  Office location will be at the Center in LaGrange, GA. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 6:00 pm and Friday, 8 am until 12 pm. This position occasionally requires longer hours and some evening and/or weekend work.

Travel:

Travel within and outside the college service area may be required for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc.  This person will be required to complete mandatory training to operate a WGTC fleet vehicle.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Two (2) years related work experience

Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in sales and/or manufacturing or

related field.

  • Experience with grants management.
  • Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills;
