OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Technical College System of Georgia has many unique ways to serve students while in high school. Please view each section below for additional information on our programs for high school students and click to visit each program’s website for additional details.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment allows students in grades 10-12 who qualify to take college courses at their local technical college, online, or at their high school. Students will receive high school and college credit simultaneously when completing approved college classes.

Accelerated Career

Accelerated Career pathways offer qualified students a unique path to high school graduation. Students choose to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or two (2) Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC’s) in a specific career pathway. Some of the required high school courses may be taken under the state-funded Dual Enrollment program.

Dual Achievement

The Dual Achievement Program offers qualified students a path to high school graduation through one of the Technical College System of Georgia’s Academies. Students in the program simultaneously earn a high school diploma (awarded by a TCSG Technical College, and one of the following):

  • 2 Technical College Certificates of Credit
  • Technical Diploma
  • Associate Degree

The high school diploma is a recognized and accredited high school diploma – just like earned from a traditional high school.

College and Career Academies

A Georgia college and career academy is a unique school established with a partnership between a local school system, local business and industry, and a local technical college. Students will be able to take advantage of courses that are driven by industry, participate in dual enrollment, and apprenticeships/internships, all while focusing on soft skills
